Moorehead and Panthers keep Saints winless PDF Print E-mail

The Carolina Panthers improved to 3-2 in dramatic fashion with a 16-13 victory over the division rival New Orleans Saints Sunday. Carolina won it on a 52-yard field goal by kicker John Kasay as time expired. Head coach John Fox improved to 6-0 versus the Saints in Louisiana. Carolina travels to Arizona next Sunday.

Following a disheartening loss to Tampa Bay last week at home, the Panthers came together and held a team meeting last week. Facing an 0-3 Saints team that won the NFC South last year, the Panthers knew they had a tough game ahead of them. They were right.

“It was a tribute to the players in this locker room,” said Fox, whose team was outgained 341 to 243 in total yardage and surrendered 23 first downs while picking up just 12. “The way that game went, they had plenty of opportunities to lay down their sword, but they never did.
