One-year deal keeps Moorehead with Panthers After agreeing to terms earlier in the month, Kindal and the Panthers put the ink to a contract Monday morning that will keep him in Carolina for the 2007 season.
Moorehead, Carolina's fifth-round draft pick out of Alabama in 2003, helps solidify a position that is looking a bit thin in 2007. A solid reserve in his four seasons with the team; Kindal has career totals of 85 tackles, 27 quarterback pressures and 7.5 sacks |

Kindal and Carolina to open on the road With four road games in the first six weeks, the Panthers face a challenging 2007 regular season schedule that sees Carolina open away from home for the first time under head coach John Fox. The Panthers first game will be at St. Louis before playing at Bank of America Stadium against Houston in Week Two. A Saturday night contest against Dallas December 22 on the NFL Network and an appearance by defending the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts highlight the home schedule that includes four home games in the last six weeks. Beginning Sunday November 25 against the New Orleans Saints, the Panthers will be home four times in five weeks as they host San Francisco (December 2), Seattle (December 16), and Dallas (December 22) in addition to the Saints. “With three straight division games early in the season, getting off to a good start is going to be important. The NFC South has proven to be one of the best divisions in the League and I do not see that changing. We already knew we were playing good teams and the schedule was going to be a challenge regardless of the order,” says Fox. “You never know how a season is going to play out, but the schedule appears balanced and it is up to us make the best of it.” READ MORE |

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Dec. 10, 2006) -- Eli Manning and Tiki Barber put the New York Giants back in playoff shape. Chris Weinke couldn't revive Carolina's sinking season. Manning threw three touchdown passes and Barber ran for 112 yards as the Giants snapped a four-game losing streak with a 27-13 win over the banged-up Panthers. The Giants (7-6) remained tied with Philadelphia and Atlanta for the NFC wild-card lead. The Panthers (6-7) lost their third straight and will lose tiebreakers to the Eagles and Giants. Kindal continues to provide much needed depth along Carolina's defensive line. A backup defensive tackle he is averaging a tackle per game and his strenght up front is allowing for Panther linebackers to be more mobile. READ MORE |
